Divine Grace Parish members of Walking with Moms in Need Ministry has put on two free community baby showers. The first was held on April 14, 2024 at St. Ferdinand in Oldenski Hall. The second took place on October 13, 2024 in Ellwood at Holy Redeemer in the Community Hall. I am proudly pro-life and wanted to show my support for this cause. As a Cranberry Township, PA newborn photographer, I had the honor of documenting both events, both of which were organized by Denise and Bill Slusser and run entirely by volunteers.
“The Walking with Moms in Need Ministry is a national program promoted by the US Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB). The Divine Grace Parish Ministry joins with those across the country as they seek to provide new and pregnant moms with the assistance and the resources they need to care for their newborns. It promotes a cultural of life and seeks to make Catholic parish communities that are welcoming and supportive to moms experiencing a crisis pregnancy.”
The honored guests were provided a filled diaper bag, had an opportunity to meet with resource organizations to assist them with needs ranging from child support to food insecurity, and each resource table handed out free items such as baby bottles, diapers, and pacifiers.
The halls were decorated with balloons, teddy bears and diaper cake centerpieces. The primary gifts, from which each mom could select one item, were displayed at the front of the hall.
At the end of each event, the guests stopped at the Boutique where they were provided with a bag filled with age-appropriate outfits for their child.
Finally, the Knights of Columbus members, filled these moms’ cars with the presents they received from the event.
What a beautiful way to show the value of life from the moment of conception and to support these moms in their vocation!
