Wexford, PA In Home Newborn Session | Christa Rogers Photography

When you choose an in-home newborn session, the session will take place in the comfort and safety of your own home. There’s no need to pack bags, rush out the door, or disrupt your baby’s routine. Instead, I bring everything to you to allow for a relaxed, stress-free atmosphere. The space is safe and familiar for you and your baby. It’s convenient for new parents, especially if you have other kiddos in tow!

Props, Backdrops, Wraps & Outfits
I provide everything needed for your baby’s first photos, including:

A curated selection of props
A variety of backdrop colors
Soft, high-quality wraps
Adorable newborn outfits

I use these props and materials to carefully create the perfect setup in a well-lit area of your home. To ensure your baby stays cozy and content, I also bring a small floor heater and “shusher” to maintain a warm, soothing environment throughout the session.

You’ll receive a link with photos of all available styling options. Personalizing your newborn portraits ensures your images reflect your style and vision.

How Long Does a Newborn Photography Session Take?
Newborn sessions are never rushed. I allow plenty of time for feeding, cuddling, soothing, and comforting your baby. You can expect your session to last approximately 2–3 hours.

This flexibility allows you to take plenty of breaks for feeding, outfit changes, and soothing your baby if need be. During the session, I follow baby-led posing techniques. I don’t force baby into any specific poses and I take my time so baby is comfortable throughout the session. Patience is key when working with newborns, and those peaceful, sleepy poses are always worth the wait.

A little preparation goes a long way in achieving those dreamy, sleepy newborn portraits.

Bathe Baby Before the Session
I highly recommend bathing your baby before your scheduled session. It helps to create a clean, soft, fresh look. It will also relax your baby and gently tire them out for better sleep during posing. Be sure to take your time and draw out bath time to keep your baby awake as long as possible. The goal is to help them reach that deep, cozy sleep once the session begins.

Give Baby a Full Feeding
Please give your baby a full feeding right before I arrive. After bathing and feeding, soothe your baby into that sweet, sleepy zone. A full tummy combined with a warm environment makes it much easier to capture those calm, curled-up newborn poses parents love.

Your baby’s safety and comfort are always my top priority!

Newborns change incredibly fast. Those tiny fingers, wrinkly toes, and sleepy stretches don’t last long. An in-home newborn photography session preserves these fleeting moments in a natural, intimate way.

Ready to document your baby’s first days? Let’s create something timeless—right in the comfort of your home.
